Compliance Specialist (Contract)

Melbourne

Reporting to the Head of Compliance and as part of the broader Governance and Risk team, you will be responsible for the implementation of the Trustee Compliance Framework and will assist in providing effective management of the Trustee’s compliance obligations including reviewing marketing material. In this hands-on role, you will implement compliance reviews and undertake ongoing assessment of compliance controls. You will also assist with overseeing and supporting compliance practices and will work closely with the compliance team in fostering a strong compliance culture across the business.

You will be a passionate and capable compliance professional with at least 5 years’ experience in a compliance related role within a superannuation fund, financial services organisation or audit firm. Strong superannuation fund knowledge, including knowledge of defined benefits is desirable, as is experience in compliance management, particularly trustee obligations. Critical to your success will be an enthusiastic approach as well as strong communication and organisational skills.  Senior compliance professionals seeking a flexible working arrangement will also be considered.

Head of Legal

Melbourne

Reporting to the Executive Officer, Governance and Risk, you will lead the Legal function across the business, ensuring the overall management and effective operation of the Legal function within the business including providing proactive advice and support to the CEO and Executive Leadership team as required. You will also provide oversight and management of the Legal team as well as the Legal Team budget, developing and coaching Legal team members. In this strategic role, you will develop, improve and innovate methods of delivering legal services and solutions to the business, delivering value and building successful ongoing relationships with key stakeholders.

You will be a senior lawyer with at least 10 years’ experience within financial services, funds management or superannuation organisation, including substantial experience leading an in-house legal team and in designing and executing on-house legal team transformation. In this truly collaborative team, you will have the courage to bring ideas to the table and with highly developed interpersonal skills, you will engage effectively with a range of stakeholders, quickly building trust and rapport within this non-hierarchical environment.

Deputy Company Secretary

Melbourne

Reporting to the Executive Officer, Governance and Risk, you will play a critical role in reviewing and finalising papers, co-ordinating meetings, as well as taking and settling minutes for the various Committees and advisory groups. You will also manage statutory filings, registers and records. With strong executive presence, you will attend and contribute in Board meetings and you will also add value at the Executive level. Your broader focus will also include a wide range of projects to deliver across the organisation as well as reviewing and maintaining business policies.

You will be an experienced Assistant or Deputy Company Secretary with highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including a proven track record in reviewing, preparing and disseminating Board and Committee materials and minute taking. You will have a strong understanding of the Corporations Act as it relates to the company secretarial function and will have or are working toward Corporate Governance qualifications. Mature and thoughtful in outlook, you will bring an inquisitive mind to the role and highly developed organisational skills. Further, you will have experience interacting with Directors and Committee members as well as driving the delivery of project work. Superannuation or financial services experience preferred however candidates with broader industry experience will also be considered. Slightly more experienced candidates who are seeking flexibility of a part-time opportunity will also be considered.

Governance Manager

Melbourne

Reporting to the Executive Officer, Governance and Risk, you will:

  • Develop and implement governance related policies and procedures including the governance framework and conflicts management framework;
  • Implement, monitor and provide advice on governance practices to ensure compliance with relevant APRA prudential standards;
  • Assist with the pro-active continuous improvement of governance, including preparation of new/amended policy documents;
  • Continuously assess and implement process improvement and automation across administrative components of the governance function;
  • Act as assistant company secretary to the board and board committees; and
  • Maintain statutory records and management of lodgements with ASIC and APRA.

The ideal candidate will be tertiary qualified with 2-5 years’ experience in a directly comparable governance role and will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. In this truly collaborative team, you will have the courage to bring ideas to the table and with highly developed interpersonal skills, you will engage effectively with a range of stakeholders, quickly building trust and rapport within this non-hierarchical environment. Superannuation and Trustee Regulatory / Financial Services experience preferred however candidates with broader industry experience will also be considered.

Business Development Manager 

NSW / Sydney

In this newly created position, you will be responsible for building, developing and leveraging relationships with employers and the Fund’s key stakeholders in order to increase employers, members and FUM growth. A key focus will be developing a footprint of the Fund in NSW, specifically within Catholic education, health and aged and community services. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing a growth plan for NSW, identifying opportunities within the Catholic community and associated markets;
  • Developing and managing a sales pipeline for origination of new employer growth;
  • Delivering presentations to employers, aiming to secure preferred/nominated status for the Fund; and
  • Developing, maintaining and leveraging stakeholder relationships within institutional networks (including Catholic Dioceses, employer associations, unions and employers).

This exceptional new role is a unique opportunity for someone who is:

  • A polished and experienced superannuation professional with strong technical and legislative knowledge;
  • A person with the capacity to articulate the many benefits of Catholic Super and represent the fund in NSW with all stakeholders;
  • Proven to be a very strong relationship builder, to “C” suite level (essential);
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of how to leverage relationships to drive outcomes;
  • Clearly equipped to develop and manage a growth plan for NSW;
  • RG 146 accredited. Completion of the Advanced Diploma in Financial Services is preferred, as is a tertiary qualification.
