Our board

The Trustee Board’s directors are ultimately responsible for administering the Fund in accordance with the law and the Trust Deed. Members and employers are equally represented.

The term of office for directors is four years. Elections are decided on a first-past-the-post basis, (the nominee who receives the most votes will be elected). The Board members elect the Chair.

Catholic Super is governed by a Corporate Trustee, CSF Pty Limited (ABN 30 006 169 286) (AFSL 246664).



Board Chair: Danny Casey

Danny has been appointed by the Board as an employer-representative director. Danny has extensive experience as a senior executive and management consultant having worked in and advised private and public sector organisations, as well as not for profits, in Australia and overseas.

Danny’s professional career includes senior executive roles with Energy Australia, Ernst & Young, Lend Lease as well as leadership of a commercial law firm. Danny was appointed as the Business Manager of the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney in 2003. In 2008, Danny was the senior executive (COO) responsible for the planning and delivery of World Youth Day in Sydney - a major international event that involved over 130 nations and more international visitors than attended the Sydney Olympics. Over 500,000 people gathered at each of the major events which were broadcast to an estimated worldwide audience of in excess of 1.4 billion.

Danny is well experienced in corporate governance and has served on many Boards and Committees, including the Finance Council of the Archdiocese of Sydney, the Board of the University of Notre Dame Australia, various Boards of Church owned entities, including the Catholic Cemeteries Board and the Catholic Development Fund.

In 2014, Danny was invited to assist the Vatican where he established new processes based on international standards and best practice. Since then, he has worked as a management consultant and advisor, assisting various businesses and not-for-profit organisations on strategy and governance. Danny is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of NSW, and a Master of Economics from Macquarie University.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO): Frank Pegan

Prior to becoming the Catholic Super CEO in 2001, Frank was the Chair of Finance with the Catholic Education Office, Melbourne. He is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and a Registered Tax Agent (RTA). Frank holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Business Administration.
