Michelle Cheong

Melbourne: Leading super fund Catholic Super today announced the appointment of Michelle Cheong as Chief Risk Officer, effective 6 October 2025.

Ms Cheong will lead Catholic Super’s risk function and oversee the development and implementation of the enterprise risk management framework. She will be responsible for fostering a strong risk culture across the organisation, championing transparency, accountability and proactive risk management at every level.

With nearly two decades of experience in the superannuation and financial services sector, Ms Cheong brings deep expertise in risk governance, assurance and operational resilience. After starting her career at Ernst & Young, she has held senior roles at Mercer Australia and Marsh & McLennan, and for the past four years has been Catholic Super’s Head of Risk. During her tenure, she has been instrumental in embedding risk management practices across the organisation and advancing the maturity of Catholic Super’s risk culture.

Ms Cheong holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from The University of Melbourne and a Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting from Chartered Accountants ANZ.
