Who we are

Since our inception in 1971, we’ve been improving the financial futures of people working in industries dedicated to caring for others – such as Catholic education, health, aged and community services. Our members deserve to receive our care in return, and that’s the commitment we make.

Where we began

When the fund launched in January 1971, its original purpose was to provide superannuation for teachers and other staff in Victorian Catholic Schools – beginning with the Archdiocese of Melbourne and the three other Victorian dioceses (Ballarat, Sandhurst and Sale). Over the decades, Catholic Super became a national super fund, open to everyone from other states and territories around Australia.

Our long history of providing affordable financial advice to members began in May 2002 with the establishment of CSF Financial Services Pty Limited. In October 2019, Catholic Super undertook its biggest venture to date by joining forces with Equip Super to become one of Australia’s larger profit-for-member super funds. This milestone allows us to continue providing the high-quality, personalised service of a small super fund, with the resources and capabilities of a larger one.
