Responsible Investment panel

Super | | 2 min read

We recently hosted a panel discussion on Responsible Investment at Australian Catholic University (ACU) in Melbourne, attended by Catholic Super members, alumni from ACU and the general public. The panel included:

  • Simon O’Connor - CEO of RIAA
  • Alison George - Head of Policy for Regnan
  • Frank Pegan - CEO of Catholic Super, and
  • Garrie Lette - CIO of Catholic Super.

The panelists discussed topics such as what defines impact investing, the implications of negative screening and what the future of impact investing will look like. Frank Pegan reiterated that Catholic Super has always believed investments should not only focus on profit, but also people and the planet, and this is reflected throughout our entire portfolio and every investment option we offer.

Our PositiveIMPACT investment option was launched late in 2017, allowing members to invest in an option focusing on social, environmental, and governance outcomes. Our CIO, Garrie Lette explained that the investments chosen in this option focus not only on returns, but also on positive outcomes for the environment and society.
